The name came about very naturally. Sintra is known for its unique climate, with days of thick fog during much of the year. It was either coincidence or destiny that on the day we thought of producing gin, the fog was so dense it turned into that fine, misty rain. In Portugal, we call this weather phenomenon ‘Cacimba‘—and so, the name was born!”
